HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS

DANIEL W. DILZELL, Attorney at Law

Tropical Storm Don didn’t last long, but the fourth named storm of the 2017 Atlantic hurricane season did manage to lead to some flash flooding in a few areas 500 miles east of Barbados beginning on July 17.

We are currently in the midst of hurricane season, and in Southern Louisiana and the Gulf coast region, its a fact that a storm will occur at some point. It’s why it’s imperative for business owners to be prepared both before and after a storm. That’s where we come in.

At Jackson & Jackson, we have many years of experience representing commercial clients and small business owners with claims management, business interruption, and property loss. After working with claims post Katrina, we realized that a lot of business owners did not have the coverage they thought they had. This prompted us to develop and offer a program where we would review and analyze coverage to ensure that business owners were proactive and thus protected prior to a storm.
